History:
Spirit was born in the Burbs of the Coalition city of Chi-town in fairly retched circumstances. His mother was a prostitute that worked the military garrisons. While she was a major psychic, she rarely used her ability. His father was a Mind Melter th4at served as an officer in Psi-Net. He employed Paul's mother on several occasions because her psychic eye was open. She may have been trying to snare the Coalition Officer or it may have been simply bad luck, by Paul was eventually conceived. At that point in time, the Psi-Net officer discarded his lover. Paul was born and live much of his early childhood in the Burbs. Paul was always a nice boy and was taken care of by many of his mother neighbors. When at home, he had to deal with his mother complaining endlessly. Unlike many psionic individuals, his abilities manifested long before puberty but they manifested slowly. His most common psychic presence was the image of a girl with brown hair and brown eyes that was around his own age.

He understood from conversations that the Coalition Military would find about him and would either try and kill him or make him part of Psi-Net like his father. Because of this he tried to run away at age eight. While completely unprepared, he managed to get both out of the Burbs and into the wilderness. He was looking for a mythic place her had whispered of. The place was called Psi-Scape. The distance was just to far for an eight year old child to get to there without running into trouble. Luckily, he ran into a group of Elven scouts that were in the area watching the actions of the Coalition to report back to their King. The scouts were taken with the boy and after some debate decided to have him stay with them when they returned home. Their adoptee made quite a stir in the Elven halls but eventually the clamor died down and he was accepted surprisingly well. The Elven halls are located in a location that was known before the coming of the Rifts as Crawford Notch in the state of New Hampshire. Unlike most Elven community, they had an excellent working relationship with a community of dwarves. The environment in the Elven Halls was much better for him than living in the Burbs of Chi-Town and was very exciting. He learned how to read and write, how to fight, and how to develop his psychic abilities. It was from them that he learned to prefer the term Mind Mage over Mind Melter. The Elves even taught him how to dance and how to ride horses. While he had relationships with female elves of his equivalent age, he kept having dreams of the brown haired human girl that he initially saw in his dreams as a child. One indication that he might have that it was a real person is that as he grew up, she grew up at the same rate he did. He discussed these dreams with several of his teachers in psychic abilities and several of them though that is was some type of clairvoyant vision and to try and find out more. Over time, he discovered that she was from the Earths past and he was suppose to go back in time to her sometime in the future.

Spirit realized that the best way he could develop his psychic abilities would be to adventure and when he became an adult, he decided to travel outside of the Elven Community. As a final gift, he was given Elven scale armor from the Elves and was giving a Magical Katana that the Elven King had requested years before from the Dwarves for the adopted human. He traveled by himself for a few months and then met up with several other adventurers. These included a Cyberknight named Raven and a City Rat named Tanya. They adventured together for a while dealing with various evils. In one of their adventures, they rescued a mated pair of Zembaks.

His dreams of the girl increased in frequency and intensity. He knew that the girl was in trouble and he concentrated on getting clearer visions. He finally made a breakthrough and discovered that she was living in the during the middle of pre-rifts Twentieth Century. He looked for a way to get back and eventually found a secret technological device that allows time travel. He time traveled to the year 1957 to rescue her. As might be expected, she had dreamed of him for years as well. Her name was Casey Mitchell and she had just graduated from school and was feeling a bit adrift and did not fit into the culture of the 1950s. They fell in love and they traveled back to Spirits time. They settled in Tolkeen for a period of time and got married.
